Activities of the Centre
In terms of the fact that the testing of mechanical gears, their structures and elements, is a powerful resort of technical progress in mechanical engineering, the Centre is equipped for the testing of: gear speed reducers, friction gears, belt gears, planetary gears, etc.
According to types and purposes of the testings, the Centre does:
The testings of this kind are intended for development of a new product and are in accordance with the testings of operating ability and reliability of gears and machine systems. The testings of accuracy, hardness, wear resistance, efficiency, vibration,..., belong to this group of testings.
Standard control testings.
The testings from this group are intended for standard monitoring of gears after assembly and in period of exploitation, including:
- Monitoring of gear junctions after the assembly,
- Monitoring during testing,
- Monitoring of wear development,
- Periodical monitoring (e.g. of vibration and wear products), etc.
Testing of mechanical gears is performed on:
- experimental devices that allow for testing in broad range of exploitation regimes,
- real structures and machines.
In the Centre, there is a device for testing of gear speed reducers, designed according to the principle of "closed loop power". Using the general principles of operation of this type of devices, it is possible to form a chain of mechanical gears if different types and to conduct different kinds of testings.
In the Centre, there is also a device for testing of friction variators that works according to the principle of "opened loop power". Electric brake, designed and made fro this device as a separate aggregate, may also be used for testing of other mechanical gears.
In addition to these devices, The Centre has a device for testing of toothed belt gears that works according to the principle of "opened loop power". A mechanical cart was specially designed and made for this device and may be used for the testing of other mechanical gears. The Centre has so far participated in realization of several scientific-research projects and in realization of two master's theses.
